Getting my yard ready for Early Spring

The above photos are last summer flowers that are seeding back

I love to use Old Vintage Items in my yard
We have been having some very warm days. Too early
for anything planting but getting the flowers beds ready to
plant in. Mostly I plant in flower pots. But do have a flower
bed where the plants come back from seeds every year.

Bought this iron bed at a resale shop and going to use it in
yard or add to a flower bed. I have this star that I'm fixing to
paint like it like an America flag. I saw a Star painted like that
it was very pretty too. I do love red white and blue.

Below is just some yard junk I came across that I had
over at my other home. I think I maybe add some paint.
And add them to my other collections of vintage yard art.
I love old rusty items. I love all vintage rusty items to add
where I have flower pots and hang up on my outdoor buildings

This spot in front of a storage building I had some very pretty
flowers ther last year and I am excited to see I have lots of
new plants already. They love the cold weather to start there
new plants. I have had this iron bed for years. Beside my Texas
painted like a Texas flag is where I am going to hang my star
it will be painted like an America flag.

Last summer these small pots were filled with flowers
Some are still hanging in there even after lows in the 20's
See the small green plants on the ground. It's where the seeds
fell and now small plants are coming up. I am so happy to see
this as I love these old home stead type flowers. They are so
pretty with colors.

SOME OF My COW COLLECTION..and more....

I've collected a few cows...I like all kinds of farm animals..
I think I have every kind of farm animals...
Cows, horses, chickens, pigs, sheep, ducks,
and turkeys just to name a few....
Some are toys and some are whimsey but all to me
are just plain cute...isn't that what collecting all about...
Having fun with gathering so much fun shopping..
Looking for that item that will go with your collections...
Once I start collecting I usually have to say...Now Stop That!
I do have way too much stuff...Down on the Farm...
I chose my Cows today....to show in a few pictures
That I have around in my home...I do have cows that
come to the fence across the Farm to Market Road...
and then there are Black Cows that come up to my back fence
gate...They are not mine, they belong to my neighbors...
I let them come in to eat to help me mow my Back 40........
there is a lot of mooing going on around my home place...
Now that the mother cows are calling the babies calves...
And then Mr Bull has too put lots of his bellowing in....and
then the Bull across the road has to bellow back a few times...
At night when I sit on my porch in my rocker
Those bulls can make your hair stand up...
They do make lots of different sounds bellowing
at one another...Who the best Bull on the block?...
Sometimes they get into a big fight to see who best...
I too love to watch the calves running and playing.....
It reminds of the times that I had my own cows....
But now I have only small animals...dogs and cats...
These cows I can look at and enjoy and don't have to feed....
The two pictures of the cows with all the toy cows and
pigs was a Mama Cow we had in the Late 1940's
and that a picture of her calf...This Mama cow gave us our
milk and my mother made our butter from the cream...
to put on table....Lots of times I helped her turn the
handle to make the butter....and sometimes
she would save cream to make whipping cream for
the fresh Strawberry that my dad grew in the garden
and OH soooooooo....yummy..........and good for you...
I remember so well my daddy milking that cow..
also the mama cat bringing her kittens to get my
daddy to give them a little milk too...My dad
always shared a little of that sweet milk........
Times have sure change and very few people have
a milk cow at the home anymore...back then you didn't
have to live in the country to have a cow...It was
kept in most backyards along with the chickens...
For fresh eggs...my dad kept our family well fed
with a wonderful garden and lots good fruits ...
That picture of that Big old pig or hog...
I got at an Antique shop...I know that it was one big pig..
Enjoy my Cow Collection....at my home...
I have lots more and I think maybe I put a picture in twice..
Just like an old great-granny.....can't see too good....
Thanks for stopping to see me...Down on the Farm...

In the heart of Texas my wintertime Sunsets

I know I have posted pictures of sunsets before
But these are so pretty and taken in front of my home...
I cannot get pictures of them fast enough
To get some of those beautiful colors...
None are ever the same...as they change so fast..
Just beautiful! I'm always touched by the
sunsets....I call it touched by the Master's Hand..

There is a High Ridge where I live and I want to take pictures
of the sunsets there too...The fifth picture is taken
driving to that High Ridge I wanted to get the pictures
of that sunset but it was gone when I got there...
I love to drive the back county Roads
I could stay on that High Ridge and dream of the day....
Then dream of the days that are gone forever..
Wanting to reach and touch them again....
God is so good!
