Happy Thanksgiving!

A little update with a few pictures

My cat climb high to get out of rain and we have
had lots of it lately coming down today too! Very
thankful we now are back to normal. I think?
In Texas weather is how we call it If you don't
like it wait awhile and it will change! Dry and Hot
to Wet and Cold lately I've been pouring over 4" of rain
out of my rain gauge and that has been happening a lot!
The tanks are full the pastures were green but now it's
Fall we are heading into Wintertime. This week it's down in
the 20's brrrrrrr that is getting cold but it be back in the
60's next week. See what I mean WAIT it will change!

My small back porch is now a place for a few of my summertime plants
I'm going to really enjoy them as I go outside. I have more to do, but at
lest they are in from the cold weather.  I still would like to have a flower house.
Maybe next year Lord willing!

I did not do much in the this year for the house for Fall decoration.
Just got a few things to feel it's Autumn. Our tree are just now turning colors

I'm sure I will be getting my Christmas decorations out soon.
I still cannot believe how fast this year 2013 flew by me.
Maybe I will get a few finished things done before it
ends. Looking forward to another year of who knows
what to expect!!! I'll just keep praying for things to get
better in the USA

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Be blessed and stay safe in JESUS!

Fall is making it way to TEXAS

We have been so blessed by some very good rain. This weekend we had nearly 5 inches. So we are still pretty and green here in Texas. The trees are Yaupon they are full of its fruit it bears. The Waxwing birds love this and can wipe out it fruit in early springtime. They too are such a beautiful bird to watch and oh so colorful too. I will have to added a picture of them I have at a birdbath at another computer I have.

But there are signs it starting to change into Fall. I love the colors of  Fall! Here too is a few pictures of a few of my Fall decorations I have been adding to a small porch on the side of my home. I use to have a big Sun Porch that I use to decorate before I move here. I missed it, but now I have to think little decorations...Ha ha! that is so hard for me!

I love the cooler days and getting ready for the wintertime. I too will have to be getting flowers pots in a safe place to keep them from freezing. I do not have a flower house at this home so it trying to find the room to put them somewhere. I can heat this little porch so maybe that's where I'll keep my ferns and other treasured plants. It does have good light from windows, so they will be happy to stay indoors while it cold outside. I did planned to build a flower house but this has not happen yet. I sure enjoyed having one at my last home. It was a perfect to keep all my plants safe from the cold. I do miss it!

The last pictures are of my Donkey Ears OH my, I did not ever think when I bought a ONE Hanging Pot how they would multiply. You would not believe the babies they have had. One broke off at the base of pot and I just stuck it in the ground and look I will have to dig it up too. It has grown and grown and so pretty and green. The old grill I was fixing to haul to the dump until I saw how someone had used one for a plant stand.  I'm going to spray paint it I think an off white color.

I do love Pinterest for so many new ideals to reuse items you might have junked! The grill that was on there they had painted a red. OH, it was pretty but would not go with my Barn Red Storage House it is sitting by. Lord willing, next year I will be doing more yard work. But for now I am glad most of my plants are in pots. Easier to put inside from the cold freezes we get and then on pretty days I can put them outside to get more sun. Until next time y'all have a wonderful week!

Howdy to all! My time is flying right by me, isn't it?

I took this picture of one of my cats
and my dog Duchess it surprises
me to see them like this as Duchess
never lets him get close to her. They
both want to sit by me. Well I guess age is
changing the way they feel about each other.
 Duchess turns 13 and
Mr Serious, the cat is now 7 years old.
Duchess loved him as a Kitten but when
he grew up they just did not get along
I know his name fit him to a "T"
He is a very funny cat too and he is very
serious about everything!
So, that how he got his name.

These are some of my outdoor cats
They do like this old wicker chair
and they are sharing it! I laugh when I
saw this as there is another chair right
beside this one and it's very same kind of chair.
The younger cats like my oldest cat who is now 12. He is
the one on top. He too is one of the sweetness cats
I think I have ever had. He gets along with
everyone too. He now stays only in yard.
Mostly he is in my swing, just a swinging.
He is not a hunter anymore. He leaves the hunts
to his younger friends. He knows that I will fed
him good twice a day and all the others too.

This was his brother but he left last year
for his forever hunting ground. I was sad to
see him go. I have happy memories of him and
I still miss him. But I know he was well taken
care of he was always a hunter and very
adventurous cat. I always made sure he was
home every night. I live out in the country and
my home is way away from the roads I have
a long drive up to my home and that helps to
keep the outdoor cats safe. They love the woods
that are around my home. And I have a fenced
in yard too.
This is Sandy he too is a yard cat of mine
He is different and is mostly a loner but
still friendly with me. I have my males
neuter and my females spayed at young age
usually before they are a year old. I do have
one female that is a little on the wild side and
I guess I will have to trap her to get her fixed.
OR
I am going to have more kittens! I do love
the baby kittens and love watching them
play so cute BUT I do have enough cats
to fed at the moment! Ha ha story of my life!
Always feeding dogs and cats but I love
how much love they give in return.

I do love these flowers too! I have
them growing all over my yard. They
come back every year and are early to
bloom they stay pretty until late summer.
They used to grow around all the old
home places I am sure because they
are very easy to care for. But they do
require lots of water other than that they
are easy to grow as they do re-seed and
make lots of new baby plants. It is easy to
dig them up and replant in another flower beds.

Getting my yard ready for Early Spring

The above photos are last summer flowers that are seeding back

I love to use Old Vintage Items in my yard
We have been having some very warm days. Too early
for anything planting but getting the flowers beds ready to
plant in. Mostly I plant in flower pots. But do have a flower
bed where the plants come back from seeds every year.

Bought this iron bed at a resale shop and going to use it in
yard or add to a flower bed. I have this star that I'm fixing to
paint like it like an America flag. I saw a Star painted like that
it was very pretty too. I do love red white and blue.

Below is just some yard junk I came across that I had
over at my other home. I think I maybe add some paint.
And add them to my other collections of vintage yard art.
I love old rusty items. I love all vintage rusty items to add
where I have flower pots and hang up on my outdoor buildings

This spot in front of a storage building I had some very pretty
flowers ther last year and I am excited to see I have lots of
new plants already. They love the cold weather to start there
new plants. I have had this iron bed for years. Beside my Texas
painted like a Texas flag is where I am going to hang my star
it will be painted like an America flag.

Last summer these small pots were filled with flowers
Some are still hanging in there even after lows in the 20's
See the small green plants on the ground. It's where the seeds
fell and now small plants are coming up. I am so happy to see
this as I love these old home stead type flowers. They are so
pretty with colors.
